Christmas Reminder

Merry Christmas From Darlington Fire Department

Darlington Fire Department would like to say "Merry Christmas" to everyone, in and out of our Fire District

Yes, it is that time of year again. Where did the time go? It is christmas and we would like to remind everyone. Stay Safe!

And being safe means in all things. Drive carefully. Water your tree regularily. And please use common sense when putting up your Christmas Lights. Trees and improper lighting are one of the bigger causes of fires at this time of year. So, please be careful and use common sense.

November 27th:

Darlington FD Annual Thanksgiving Eve Dance

The evening was a huge success. The evening was filled with great fun, food, and dance. The annual dance which has roots to 1887, started with a steak dinner at 5:00 p.m. and ended with Black Water Gin at 11:00 p.m.

The Darlington Fire Department would like to extend its most sincere appreciation to the community and others that attended and made it the success it was. Without the communities support, we would not have the equipment and training to protect our district as well as those in Mutual Aid areas. Thank You Darlington!

Darlington FD Dances have a long rich history within the Darlington area. Starting back in 1887, it was to happen on Thanksgiving eve. For over 125 years, these dances have provided food and entertainers like Guy Lombardo (1967 and 1971) for anyone that wanted to show up. They also have provided much needed funding for the Darlington Fire Department.

This year is no different. On Nov 27th, Thanksgiving Eve, DFD will host the annual dance. Doors open at 5:00 pm. There will be a steak sandwich dinner followed by Black Water Gin at 7:00 pm.

In their own words, Black Water Gin is Texas rock with a bite. They have a unique sound blending Country and Rock 'n Roll.

So, come out, have a great dinner, dance the night away with BWG, and help out your local fire department.

Darlington Fire Department Annual Gun Banquet

Darlington Fire Department had a very sucessful Gun Banquet. This is a annual event that gives the deparment much needed funds for new equipment. The FD would really like to thank to all those that came out to support us and win differing firearms, hunting blinds, etc.

Also we would like to thank all involved in the donations to make this awesome event such a success.

There was also a raffle drawing for a Remington 30-06 held during the evening of the banquet as well and all proceeds from this raffle went to the Jay Schwartz family. Schwartz was a Darlington fireman who passed away due to injuries sustained in a car accident on Friday, Sept. 13. He left behind a wife, Amy and two daughters, Jaylyn and Amya.
